Will Your Furnace Make it Through the Winter?

Bitter cold temperatures mixed with inefficient HVAC systems can put a big bite in your heating bill. When you add the stress of extra guests over the holidays, then you really have a recipe for disaster!

PHCC recommends that you take action now to ensure your home is ready for the holidays … and for the colder months that are sure to follow! After all, this is the time of year when your furnace seems to running non-stop (especially with more people going in and out the door!), so it’s especially important that HVAC systems are reliable … and efficient.

How to keep your home safe and cozy this season… and all winter long:

  • Check and replace your air filter, if needed. Filters should be dirt- and dust-free.
  • Hire a licensed, professional HVAC contractor to inspect your home’s system for ventilation leaks that could be resulting in cold drafts and inefficient air recirculation. Peeling tape, dirt streaks, or dented and collapsed ducts can be signals of larger HVAC problems that need attention.
    • Have your furnace professionally cleaned and inspected to ensure that it operates safely and efficiently. Technicians will inspect filters, belts, motors, electrical switches, contacts, safety switches, refrigerant levels, and gas pressure.
    • Serve up a warm and toasty home for your family … and your guests!

When it comes to safety and efficiency in your home, contact your local licensed plumbing/heating/cooling professional, Kramer & Company Mechanical.
